What would you put in it?

A friend of mine has a local garage and a guy brought in a 87 or 88 Fiero GT to be looked at and come to find out the motor is toast and now it's been sitting outside the shop for over a month. I'm beginning to think a fella could pick it up pretty cheap. I've seen some interesting combos swapped into these little cars. One of the more interesting ones is the SC3800 out of a GTP Grand Prix. What would you use?....

There was one in HR mag a few years ago when I used to subscribe that had a V8 in it, seems like it was a black and yellow one if someone else remembers it.

I had an '87 Fiero GT for a while, pretty fun little car. Was a second quicker at the drags than my Iroc was stock. I would put in either a N/A 3800 or one of those SC 3800 Gen 2. I WOULDN'T put in a northstar. I remember seeing a hot-air motor in one somewhere. Fun cars as long as the pavement is dry, having to swerve in the rain, that's another story....

guys might hate me but a SHO taurus v8 (yamaha sources heads) would be a screamer.....and relatively cheap.

Archies V8 Fieros sells the kit to put a small block Chevy in them. It is suppose to be fairly simple,40 hours with no cutting or welding. I have thought of doing the V8 swap in a Fiero when I got I got the rest of these projects done. V-8 Archie -- Pontiac Fiero V-8 Kits and Kit Cars
