What kinda boost levels do you fellas run on stock engine/turbo?

My cousin owns an 87 with 45k and has basicly a walbro pump, apfr, dynotech 3inch downpipe, hooker 2 1/2inch cat back, some cold air kit and chrome this chrome that... the reason why im asking is because some one while tuning his car burnt a chip with boost levels of 19lbs in 1st and 2nd gear.. is this right?? because ever since he's expirence problems at wot probly overboost but not sure yet.

Thanks

Ryan

as long as you have the octane you can go as high as 22-23 psi on the stock turbo without problems...but if you are going that high you better have 110 leaded race gas minimum...i was never able to run higher than 15 psi without detonation on regular 93 gas...with 104 or 100 unleaded i would assume up to 20 psi would be ok as long as the timing in the chip is low like 18-20 degrees...

okey I was thinking that... I thought possibly he was experiancing some detonation due to the high boost and 93 pump gas....

Thanks for the info
