Hey, this seemed like the most generic place to put this question. We are getting rid of the stock rims and getting some Centerline Telstars, but we need to know what backspacing to use with 275/50 BFG DRs

TIA

Josh

For street tires you can use either 3.5" or 4". However, for slicks, you need 3.5" due to the bulge you get from running low tire pressure. Keep in mind that all cars are a little different. The BSing is true for most Turbo Regals, but not all. It would be best to take a tap measurer to check for clearance.

Also, could you tell me the backspacing of the stock wheels?
Marty talked to a guy at Centerline, and he said we needed 4.5BS for an 8 inch wheel. Does that sound right?
Thanks
Josh

I have a set of Centerline Telstar 15x6 fronts with 3.5 back spacing. The rears are 15x8 with 4 inch back spacing. I have 2 sets for the rears. One set has 275-60 BFG Drag Radial, and the other set has a 28x11.5 MT Street ETs for the track. Hope this helps you out.

3.5in rear spacing vs. 4in. ...

I have some 8in. wide stock appearing GN wheels that I had made with a 3.5in. rear spacing, and they look and fit as if they came from the factory , with no tire rubbing at all using P275-60-15 Goodyears. The stock wheels are 4in. rear spacing, but to use bigger tires, you'll definitely need 3.5 rear spacing...I have a few pictures available...
'bye!

4.5" is too much BS, I would think that it is very likely to rub. But Like I said, all cars are different. Sorry, but off hand I don't know the stock wheel BS.

Just read what every one else wrote, and I think 3.75" is correct.
