Where is this leaking from?

Ive got some engine oil dripping off the converter cover. Where do you guys think its coming from?

My guess....

Rear main seal, or ck closly as the Valve covers can leak and run back down and look like it is coming from the cover. One other thing to ck is the intake seal at the back of the motor, but most likely it is the rear main seal.

the damn thing was just rebuilt 450 miles ago, can rear main seals leak that early?

I got a leak as well. It drpis a little behind the front passenger wheel and a little towards the center. Haven't really had the time to trace the leak but it does sound pretty similar to your leak. How much is your's dripping? Mine only does a few drips a day.

not really sure how much exactly, i didn't really notice it anywhere until i was underneath it changing the oil when i noticed what looked like a liquid had been splashed on my exhaust, and then i noticed a drip forming on my converter cover.

I heard your supposed to use that GM anearobic sealant with the rear main seal when u replace it.....

Hi,
Hopefully, your rebuild included a retrofit to the split lip ,two piece rear seal. It will slow the leaks down, anyway.... Also, Duttweiler sells a thick cork pan gasket that may help. Buicks of our generation have a nasty habit of leaking.
