I know this has been discussed already, but I can't find the thread I'm looking for. I need to see some examples of where you guys are mounting your MAF PRO boxes. I like the bracket that Donnie made, but I have this huge friggin tach were his mount goes. I really don't see anywhere else to put the tach.

my scanmaster was in the same spot, I moved it to the top of the dash and used a R.A.M GPS mount

there are lighter ones than this but I had it left over from when I was using and RJC EGT unit

Just get the tach mount from Nick Micale to relocate your tach, move the Scanmaster to the top of the dash, then you can get my mount :D But I don't know where to tell you to put the stuffed duck ;)

how about the glove box,and get a GNX dash, leave the big tach and gaudy gauges for the ricers...

I would LOVE a GNX dash, I just don't have the $$$$ for it at the moment. I hate having guages all over the place.

I haven't mounted mine yet. It's still laying on top of my console. :o I think I'll just hide it once I get everything set correct.

Glen,

How do you like the Pro so far?

Thanks

Haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet, but I've been talking to a bunch of people about it and everyone seems to love it so far. There is a lot of discussion about it over at Fullthrottletech.com
BTW, sharp car you've got. I remember the plates from a few of the dyno days.

Not to get off your topic, but how is your fuel pressure gauge mounted to the hood? I tried Cotton's but he no longer sells his mount for the hood. :frown:

its a custom mount the previous owner made. I'll try and snap a few pics for you next time I've got my sisters camera.

DCVING 6, What else did you have to buy with the Trans Pro? Any other cables, sensor, etc? thanks!

Besides the PRO it self, I also got the high boost sylonoid. This allows you to use the PRO as a boost controller. You enter whatever boost you want to run into the box, and it controls it there. A 3 bar MAP sensor was also needed. Once I get the rest of my combo figured out, I will get the PRO chip as well.
Aside from that I also bought the Innovative LC-1 wideband kit. The PRO hooks up to the wideband and can correct your AFR.

I copied the following from fullthrottle's message board:

I want to install a MAFT Pro on a Turbo Buick what do I need

MAFT Pro
3 Bar Map Sensor
Air temp extension cable (since you have to move the air temp sensor to the up pipe)

That is is!

Options

Extender Pro Chip (adds timing control to pro)

Boost solenoid and harness (adds closed loop boost control)

Innovate LC-1 wide band (adds closed loop Air fuel control at WOT)

Thanks for the compliment, Glen. I got an LM-1 and I would really like to set my car up like yours, I'll follow up with you at the next dyno session. :D

OK guys, I finally got it wired in. It was pretty straight forward and only involved actually splicing 2 or 3 wires, the rest was just tapping in.
What I ended up doing to mount it was pulling the radio out, and running a plastic zip-tie through two small holes to create a loop that the harness will sit in. This way, once the car is tuned in and I pull the PRO box out, I can just slide the wires back a few inches, and they tuck up under where the radio goes. When the counsel and gauge pod goes back in, you can't even notice the wires.

Oh and the clusterfu*k of wires in the background is the wiring job by the previous owner for the tach and oil/water guages. I am in the process of cleaning up the wires.
