My engine will be all stock except for the edelbrock cam (if any other cam would be better I am open to suggestions). I want to buy injectors once that way I won't have to spend more money down the road. I was thinking 50# msd's or something of the like. Are these too much, not enough? Who should I get a chip from to match the injectors I get. I plan on upgrading the fuel pump EVENTUALLY and get an adjustable regulator when it starts going back together just so you guys know. Would an RJC plate be worth it on a stock motor with aftermarket cam? FEEDBACK GREATLY APPRECIATED. FINALLY GOING TO FINISH/START MY BUILDUP!!!!

Do NOT change injectors, or do anything much in the way of mods with a stock fuel pump. It will supply enough for the stock injectors, but it might not, once you turn up the boost. If not, then engine go BOOM! Once you have a decent pump, then bigger injectors, and a chip from TurboTweak, or from FullThrottle will work together. Does the engine need a new cam? The stock cam is pretty good, until you get well into bigger turbo, ported heads, etc.

You need a walbro 340 fuel pump (I needed a hot wire kit because I have an 85. You probably need it too). Before you make mods you need to confirm fuel delivery. Do your homework and study alot - I have been there and my wallet feels it. Brad

Hi,
Good advice from my brother turbo heads!I would say that you should go with a mild cam, do some ports matching, run a max of 009 injectors, which are disc type and flow42.5 lbs, and definitely get rid of that stock pump!I had great luck with the Walbro 340 and hotwire kit that Racetronix sells. Great bang for the buck!

I agree with the above excepting you need a scanmaster before you do anything. You generally don't worry about a cam until you get to the heads?
Any reason why you are upgrading this car backwards.

Ok OK. I'll definitely put in a pump and hotwire before I do anything. What does everyonoe think of the cam situation? Beings I spun a bearing shouldn't be replaced? By the way I don't have a whole lot of money so I don't plan on doing any real headwork just MAYBE smooth out the ports myself and call it good. My reason for injectors is 1, I don't wanna pull it apart IN THE CAR to upgrade them and 2, It was a beeeaaach getting the stock ones out and all the tip filters ended up sticking in the intake. I think I might have all the rubber seals that go between the injector and tip but if I don't I would rather upgrade them with a used set of the site now and get it over with. I would like to go big enough to hit a low 11 high 10. Just don't have a whole helluva lot of money for the car, trying to fix up the house at the same time.
