Exactly what the title says is what im looking for input on. I already have a set of MSD 50's with a caspers thumbwheel chip. They work great but Ive run into a dilemma. My stock MAF finally died and its time for an upgrade. I would like to take advantage of Fullthrottle's Christmas sale. I was thinking of just keeping the 50's and getting a standard Translator, LS1 MAF, and going with a TT chip. Then I was tossing around the idea of a GEN 2 Translator, LS1 MAF, and an Extender chip. Then my next thought was that if im already going this far I might as well sell my 50's and step right into 60's since if heard nothing but good things about them. I just dont know which way to go. So many options to choose from, all of which will work. I would like your guys opinions on which translator, chip, and injectors to go with. Its Christmas time and I would like to treat myself to some nice performance goodies!;) TIA

James

I would go with a GEN 2 or a PRO setup with their chip. I have been running to pro setup (speed density), and to me, it doesn't get much better.

Along with the innovative wideband, you get A/F correction on the fly, electronic boost controller, etc.

I just had your same question and I bought 60s the Gen II, LS1 MAF, and Extender Extreme. :) I even ordered the harness from Caspers so it's a 5 min install.

I'd go with just the basic Translator with a TT chip.. Melissa's set up worksa awesome

Whatever Translator you go with, I would recommend the Extender that goes with it to get the full benifit of your Translator.

Any more opinions out there?? Just trying to get as many as possible before I make a choice.

If you plan on changing setups the extender extreme can save you some money as you won't have to send you chip back for a reprogram every time you change injectors ect.. You also don't need a race/street/akly chip. However, it can also COST you money if you screw up the tune. Either way, you need to evaluate your what you want to be able to do with your chip.

I too am sortof in the same situation.

In my gallery i have a charcoal grey T that ive been putting together for 4 years.

I do not have the 83# injectors,maf sensor, translator,electronic boost controller,wide band LC1 box,wideband sensor,modified STOCK ecm,TT chip.

If i purchased BS3 i would have close to the same amount of money invested in the BS3 versus purchasing some of the above parts individually, plus parts breakage.

Been asking Eric to do a speed density chip w/o maf for a long time now:eek:
