Which front timing cover gasket is the one that you need when taking off the front cover for a timing chain? There's one with rope seals $12 and one with rubber seals $9...which one is preferred??? These are from Autozone btw.

now you guys aren't talking about just the front crank seal correct? i already have that...it's a neoprene rubber "circle" that goes inside the front cover hole where the crank goes in...

i'm talking about the actual gasket that the entire front cover bolts on to...to the block itself...that is rubber??? looks like the factory used some sort of flat paper gasket...so that rubber one that autozone sells for like $9 is the one to get???

nevermind...i just found out that the gasket autozone/advanced sells is a "set" of everything you need...crank seal, timing cover gasket, water pump gasket, and oil pump gasket too...damn i already bought the neoprene crank seal, oil and water pump gaskets seperately...doh! looks like i will be using the neoprene over the other crank seal that comes with the kit since i paid 12 bucks for it!!!
