Just got done putting in ported stock heads, 204/214 cam and ported lower with PTE upper and PP. The car weighs 3560 with me and 1/2 tank of gas. Will a single hot wired 340 get me some 10.80-10.90 runs this year? Hope a little quicker but will be happy just to hit 10's

Those running similar combos and problems with lack of fuel?

What times and MPH are you running?

Dan

you should be ok, but don't push it much more....I went 10.90's with a single 340 in my 3700+ car and 55's

72's may need more volume...dunno

be careful

If you plot the fuel demand of six 72's on the flow curve of a hotwired 340, you get a max total rail pressure of about 58 psi, assuming 100% DC. That means with say 22 psi boost, you can only run 36 psi base fp without fp falling off at WOT. If you went through with this, your chip burner would have to take this into account when programming inj PW's. I wouldn't try it.

DON'T try this, but...

In 2000, I went 10.69@129.7 in my GN [in Gainesville, FL] with a single XP+ pump. I don't know how close the 340 correlates to the XP+'s flow, but my understanding is that it's just slightly weaker.

I was broke at the time (finishing college). Had Red's Volt Booster not been giving me ~17.5VDC at the pump, it would not have worked.

Please, please...don't try this.

Best of 10.50 with a single hotwired 340 and 72s. Base fuel pressure 41 psi. + 27 psi boost = 68 psi total fuel pressure. This is with MaxEffort "R" and PT 54 turbo.

Be sure of your pump wiring and voltage and you *should* be ok into the high 10's........

At least that's what I'm going to try this summer. I plan to run a voltblaster to make sure I have enough voltage, and my pump is hot wired....

I run the ME-R also with a Cottons FM and a 63 turbo. Plans are to hit the 10's. Start with 40 base and 24 PSI boost. Thanks for the info.

Then definitely get a hood mounted fuel pressure gauge and monitor fp through the traps, to see if fp starts falling off.

Single hot-wired 340

I've run 124 with Bob's Extender Extreme and 75# Delphi's. That's running about 28# boost and 44 psi base f/p.
