OK, THESE ARE MY MODS:

STOCK BLOCK, CHAMPION IRONS, CHAMPION LOWER INTAKE AND PLENUM, 204/214 CAM, 3"THDP, TA49, 55LB'ERS, AND SUPPORTING MODS TO SUSP. AND STUFF.

BEEN SPENDING A TON OF CASH LATELY, AND IT LOOKS LIKE I'M GONNA HAVE TO USE MY STOCK INTERCOOLER. IS THIS THING GONNA KILL MY OTHER MODS?????

it wont exactly hurt it but if u were to put a front mount or a stretch u would be able to notice a huge difference and plus it would free the air up and allow u to run more boost with alot less knock. overall i think it would be a good investment but hey to each his own.

no, not even a big neck. i need to find the xtra dough for a new intercooler, huh?

This is a no brainer for performance. With your combo I would be suprised if you did not gain .4 with a front mount monster.

For $150 you can get a big neck on that will tide you over.

A big neck I/C and TA49 are a good combo, but your heads will outflow both, so the IC will cost a couple of tenths probably, and a couple more if you get a bigger turbo.

Its not the end of the world, though. Its not like you cant drive the thing

ive heard of people with ur combo knocking off .5 and gaining 6 mph just by going to a font mount. it's amazing the difference. only problem witht eh front mount is the overheating issue. so if u do opt for a front mount make sure u get the dual fans put behind the radiator :) . it is worth the extra 150 bucks rather than ending up sitting on the side of the road with smoke pouring out of the engine compartment.

Keep an eye open for a used intercooler. I got my v4 for $550 to the door. I've seen complete powerstroke setups go for about the same amount. Just a thought.

Oh, and to answer your question...YEP that intercooler is going to hurt your performance.

With a big neck you should be good into the 11's (which is worth a couple .1's by then). The bigger the heads you have, the less compressed the air is (at a given performance level) so it requires less heat removal...but it also is "bigger" (more volume per mass) so it likes volume and smooth passages with no restrictions.
