i was driving the other day and it started to rain a little so I turned on the wipers. they worked for a second and then stopped. they have worked since I got the car but now they won't go on anymore. I checked the fuse and it is good. any suggestions???

Might try disconnecting the rod from the motor and see if the motor runs. Also check wiper motor grounds.

If not, with ignition on and wiper off, check for voltage between pin 3 and ground of the 4 pin connector using a voltmeter or test light.

I did something dopey

I took mine off to fix the pump, I plugged it back in and it would not work.

I am not sure if you can see it but the 3 screws that bolt it to the firewall are the ground, there is a "strap" of sorts that goes from the motor internals to one of these screws.

I used my trusty dual alligator clip to clip to this "strap" and to a good ground and then it worked like a champ! I also tested the washer pump and it worked too! I did learn something: Don't stand outside the car and operate the washers or you will get soaked.

In other words I would check the grounds.

theres also a fuse for the wipers i think. might want to check that. fuses always get me cause there always the last thing i check.....

i went to check it out today and saw that the passenger side one was caught on something. I moved it and it worked fine. thanks for the help to all...
