hey guys just a simple question i hope! some of my wiring has been hacked and i am trying to find out first did the output side of the altenator go to the battery or to the starter terminal origanally. second what gauge wire would you recomend to use for that hook up

just wanted to see if any other opinoins ,i thoght it went to the starter origanly just want to be sure
