would a bad MAF cause late shifts???

whats up everyone, i just got around to changing my stock maf to a LS1 sensor with a translator of course. and before this my car was having trouble shifting at WOT. it woudlnt shift till i let off the throttle. now that i have changed the sensor it will shift right at 5 grand where its supposed to. dont get me wrong this is great and the car is running awesome but i didnt think that it would cure the shifting problem.

I don't think so. The signal for trans shifting is the tv pressure or the governer..

Sometimes when you have a bad fuel pump or fuel filter, the trans may hang in high rpm until you let off the gas then it will shift.
