Im wondering why my car runs better when I have my "Y" pipe backwards. From what I have read and what people have told me, the restricted end (strait part) is suppose to go the the Turbo. And the angle side goes to the Wastegate. But when I put it that way the car just doesnt feel right. The boost shoots up real fast (17psi) and the car start sputtering. Doesnt feel like it has any power. Then when I turn it around and put the restricted side to the wastegate, then the car feels real strong but only goes to about 13-15psi. I have to feather the gas pedal to keep the car from sputtering. Is this happening to anyone else.

The straight part goes to the turbo compressor. The orifice needs to be 0.050". If you have a GM stock replacement, it is usually off and the result is higher or lower boost than should be the case.

The car doesn't seem to be running correctly in either case which points to something else at work, perhaps ignition-related. You shouldn't get sputtering no matter what boost is set at.

Waste Gate Acutuator Y hose>LINK corrected

Some of the waste gate Y hoses being sold have the .035 restrictor orffice for the Pontiac TTA, TO small and your may be overboosting.

THE small pin hole ORIfICE goes towards the COMPRESSOR PRESSURE 90 degree brass 1/4" hose barb fitting.

I ran into the same promblem on one of my turbo cars, What I did , was get a $ 20 brass body easy read DETROL adjustable needle valve in PLACE OF THE restrictor, JUST ADD THIS BETWEEN plastic Y straight end and Compressor, but enlarger hole to 1/16" .062 with drill first, this larger hole will set your LOWEST boost point with valve all the way open, START closing the Valve and you can set any size orifice you need, .050, .052 .047 ect , at the touch of a knob, BUT< DO NOT CLOSE THE VALVE ALL THE WAY EVER< START WITH IT WIDE OPEN and work your way towards the best running area.

THESE VALVES are cool part and have a color code scale on the knob for memory recall of setting.
TRY THIS LINK , sorry for the screw up
