Sometimes you just gotta start over....

Sorry to hear that. I enjoyed following the progress of an awesome car.

BTW, xxxdarksidexxx is an idiot. Always has been. Once a tool always a tool.

I dont know who he is but I will agree with you. I left an eager comment on that video excited to hopefully see the car in person at one of the events this coming season and thats what he replied to.

We are trying to put together a package for a carbon fiber body right now!!!

God willing we will have it ready for the spring!

Far as xx..xx goes, he will grow up one day and hit the real world. It is easy to cast stones while still in the cradle... He means well and truly has a good heart, just misplaced anger...

Thank you! I wanted to put out CF stuff back a few months ago, but the guy I was going through was just too fishy and my money is tied up in too much other stuff... I will definitely be a customer!

Car is completley disassembled! We are replacing the entire front clip of the bars to be safe...

We got to make some money to put it back together now... We have a progress plan and if all goes well we should be back by the NATS!

That's good news. Look forward to seeing it if everything goes well for you guys.

I am curious, how do you stop the front end from lifting like that again?

Glad to see things are moving forward with yours.

Well reflecting on the days events we still can't say FOR SURE what caused the wreck to happen...

It was not oil out of our car it seems...

Our best guess right now is the track was still a little damp, when it changed to third it broke loose... Lonnie built a heck of a transmission for this thing and it hits third like ton of bombs!!!!

So all we can do is put it back and go at it again and see what happens....

I've seen an instance where a car would lay down a fine mist of oil that no one caught on to and didn't get cleaned up. The slower, more average cars at the track would be able to follow and not have a problem. But, the next quick car that ran would get out of shape. After the accident, and during the following cleanup, the track would still not show any obvious oil on the track. Were there other cars running then?

Shane your car is in a different league but I can tell you what we're doing with Dads mid 9 sec ride.

We are going with a FAST XFI for a few reasons.
Traction control
Shifter control
Boost control
2 step rev limiter

His little incident would not have happened if the shifter was working corectly. The rpm signal was never right on it so it would work sometimes and not work on others.
The traction control would have pulled timing out of the motor which would have helped.

Boost control is necessary on these cars with big turbos. For the sake of a good launch and to control the amount of power you put to the wheels off the line

Point being here that we need unit that will reliably control the motor and trans because I watched first hand what happens when they get out of control. There is usually not enough room to get it back under control.

She is stripped back down with the whole front clip cut off:frown:

Hopefully will order some parts next week and start over again;)

Here are some damaged parts. The front end got the most damage. We have removed the front clip and remaining sheet metal. The chassis will be attached to the jig this week. Then we can fab the new front clip. I think we had several causes for the wreck. We had reports off something on the track to it not having down track prep for that kinda of car. We can add weight to the front of car to help with the balance and keep the frontend on the ground. I feel a few changes to better improve performance. It is good to know we build a safe car, but hated to have to find out this way.
