Bracket Picture

Here's the two brackets. The left bracket is the 3.8 N/A bracket, the dirty one on the right was my old 3.8 Turbo bracket

I've got the bigger bracket and a 87 alternator sitting on the shelf... just in case

I take it the point of all this is to pay 99 bucks for a 140 amp alt? well plus what you pay to snag the bracket maybe 10 bucks, and the plug another 5 bucks? and your time, but you do know you can order a 140 amp powermaster from JEGS that bolts right up and plugs right in for 150 bucks right? just saying, thats what I did, no problems with it been running strong for almost 2 years.

140 amp powermaster for 78 thru 87 buick regal

True, but if you want a good warrenty then you can get an alternator from one of the parts houses and get a lifetime so you never have to pay out of pocket. That's the biggest thing here.

that and the "look what i did to my car all by myself" factor..

I would be glad to pay you for that CS144 bracket

about 5 years ago, I tried to put on a CS 144 like on the the 86-87 GN, It would not fit in the bracket, These alternator put out good at idle, and don't fail off like the 94 amp oem.

If you want to sell it, name your price with shipping and I will paypal fund asap.

. . . I also acquired 2 extra 255031034 brackets. So if anyone is looking for one let me know.

One of these days. I may do this as well. . . .

Well Eric, . . . . 4 years later, I FINALLY upgraded the alternator. ;)
Thanks again for the bracket!

So far so good! Voltage is higher and a lot more stable than with the stock 96A.
The headlight lights are defnitely bighter, and I have to belief that all the other electrical components must work better.

Boy, that did take you a while to accomplish. I'm glad the bracket worked out for you.
