What causes the warning light to come on? Brakes 'feel' right with normal pedal travel, fluid level isn't low. This isn't a on a Buick, just a general question.
 
nope, last of the dinosaur pre computer Quadrajet equipped 2 piece rear seal Gen 1 sbc. No ABS sensor. Thanks for the reply though Wendy. Btw, I heard nasty Wendy wasn't.

The light is supposed to indicate an imbalance between the front and rear systems...
 
Meaning what S10? Imbalanced line pressure? Wouldn't that indicate a leak?

Not necessarily, just that one system is putting out more pressure than the other. Enough to move the shuttle piston inside the valve so it's off center, thus triggering the light. Have you bled the brakes or done any other work lately? If it's a disc/drum car, have you "self adjusted" the rear brakes lately?

Its either that or the parking brake switch
