I think my thread name pretty much sums it all up, lol.
I asked a similar question in this same forum way back last winter. I got a few yes's. But I'll tell you, if this was back in the early 90's there would have been a bunch more. Not everyone has been around these cars as long as I have. But I remember when..........

Jaimie has a hot air car in the 10s
Sally has a build going on...

Bryan

I own my Buicks but my daughter's race them  Does that count? :D

Kinda counts :D Do they work on them too?

Yeah Joey, I have yet to ever see another female with one. Hell it's hard to even find females that have a car... or at least a modified one. I hate to sound like a bitch but a brand new stock Mustang or Camaro to me just doesn't count. :sour:

Well, A lot of that has to do with the area of the country we live in. When it comes to "Car Culture," although Long Island is a little better than Westchester, NYC mentality rubs off on to the people of the nearby suburbs a little. We still have a raging auto scene. But definitely not as important to many of us as it would be if we were a bunch of frigg'n hillbillies! And don't forget, parentage wise, hot-rodder numbers may not be that high. But there's 20 million people in the greater NYC area. I don't think 20 million rednecks have ever even lived and died on earth yet.

OK. Now let me run like hell........I've got a flame suite to put on!

Just curious, & no, I'm not a chick, but how about a '09 Cad CTS-V pushing over 700 RWHP, does that count?

... mainly because southerners will stick to traditional values including the countries racing heritage, whereas our NYC ladies are home watching Mob Wives, or yapping about kiddie soccer/football practice.

Who wants a woman with traditional values? That ain't no fun! :D

What you know about NYC is a sure lot of nothing lol... That description pretty much sums up married women with kids that are not into cars everywhere. I don't match up to any of the above, however, Big Ang and her basketball tits is quite entertaining to watch

Not sure where you're from, but being born, raised and still living in NYC when I go back from New Jersey every single weekend, whether Queens or stretching out to Massapequa Park, there are no women hanging on the corners talking tech, or rolling in their Grand Nationals lmao. Women I know are in fact married, have careers, hit up Atlantic City, clubs, bars, are into ink, Manhattan lifestyle, etc. Unless you're talking high school and college girls, which today are more into the Import scene, and even then they'd rather be up on stage as opposed to wrenching and racing. I honestly question you and where you reside, or even where you hang out to state that what I said wasn't factual. The days of Franny Lew, Fountain Avenue, Maurice Avenue, Crossbay Blvd are all over. How many women do you see racing at e-town, atco, or any other raceway that are from NYC, save for the ones that go to watch their children in the stands while daddy races, or to film them? I mean seriously, even my niece for example, is eighteen, born and raised in NYC, and could care less about cars. Ask her about Jamberry though, and she won't keep quiet lol...

I agree lol. I have nothing against southern gals who look up to other gals like Tina Pierce and Kayla Morton, both of which can drive incredibly and truly love the hobby, but the majority of our NYC women are spoiled brats, not to mention girly girls and would never get grease under their nails, and the ones that do prolly have girlfriends themselves. We're talking only a handful of NYC ladies compared to the ladies, say in Oklahoma, who are born into the lifestyle and who can't get enough of it. Lets also remember that the people themselves have changed substantially in NYC, lots of new nationalities and races coming in, and none of them care for racing much, sadly.

Born and raised Nassau County and still reside... And I am not at all disagreeing with you. First of all, the scene isn't even what it was to be honest. But even back in the day compared to now, you NEVER really saw girls in the car scene that weren't someone elses girlfriend, sister or daughter just hanging out. Any girls in general that have a car and work on it is a diamond in the ruff let's face it, we just barely exist. I was always the only girl, which I also why I joked about girls in the car scene that you do end up seeing who just went out and bought a brand new Mustang or Camaro and drive it around to try and pick up guys, lol (hate those) - We are out there, just very hard to find.... There are all types of groups I classify women in... Maybe the type of friends you have wives are like that... Nothing wrong with that at all. But just because the circle you find yourself in, doesn't mean it's all women who have those interests... All I am getting at here is, you can't classify us all in that lifestyle. I was just born into it, and I find a lot of girlfriends I do have love getting into cars just never had the chance for someone to force it on them like my old man did, lol... I'm the youngest of 3 girls he had to get one of us into sports and cars, lol. And no I don't look like some butch chick with a crew cut, lol.
