I was told by a different builder that my TH400 went down (within a couple of miles) because the snap rings were mixed up and the wrong one was used on the intermediate drum. I was told one snap ring had a sharp 90 degree outer face and the other had a rounded face.

Decided to take the th400 to Dave Splett at Trans Service in Lynnwood, Wa.
Just wanted to see if I could help with the cost of travel ($50 or so) if someone was going through Portland on the way to Seattle and take my trans in a box to Dave.

Jamie has worked on my TH400 for sometime now and I think he has been sick and is now really behind.
Is there anyone else around that can build a TH400? Jamie said there are basically two builders for most of Woodburn racers. Is the other guy the one on Powell?

I must admit, I don't I don't know alot about auto trans. I just had my TH400 gone through while I install my new motor. Could the wrong backing plate with four clutches caused this? Or the wrong clutch drum with the combination of backplate or number of clutches? I need to figure out before...
