Vented
Those fender vents are Buicks trade mark from way back. They shouldve installed them on all the TRs. Now you see all the Brand X cars running around with stick on fender vents...
Chill n with the dudes
Cool ride, i wanna come over an chill with you car dudes and carve punkins and drink beer:) I really miss the good ole days!!! All my buddies are married now and their wives made them sell their cars to buy the mini vans.
T-top
You will need to weld a cross brace to the frame. I seen a factory convertible 1957 Chevy have this. The frame was very solid, no flex. My T-top GN flexed a little and the doors gaps where off some. T-Top TRs are cool with the tops out though.
That is severe damage, did the timing chain break by chance? Almost sounds like the piston contacted the both valves. How many pounds of boost were on the motor? Sorry to hear this:( :( :(
Weak casting can cause this to occur, i know of a few low mileage GNs cranks snapping in two from normal driving. Guess lack of oil and tight clearences can cause this. An earlier post of a Block missing a large section of the lifter valley was missing. Also engine blocks breaking in two...
Prime the engine
Hey Bro, You could prime the engine first to make sure the lifters are all pumped up and oil is in all passages. there are alot of oil cavities inside the block. Also the factory oil coolers as well.
