    Oil filter housing R&R

The replacement o-ring came in the mail today and I was able to tackle the job right away. I think the adapter bolt was a bit loose, but this is what the old o-ring looked like:

    Oil filter housing R&R

Thanks, that problem happened to my dad once, so I did check for double gaskets. Best I can figure is either I disturbed the housing enough during the filter change to damage the old o-ring, or adding new motor oil was enough to make the problem very noticeable. The biggest clue was the stream...

    Oil filter housing R&R

Thanks for the info, and also the link, I was having trouble finding it on Kirban's site :)

    Oil filter housing R&R

I got a pretty significant oil leak after a routine oil change today. Luckily this happened in the garage and not on the road :poop: I looked around and it seems the likely source is the O-ring that goes behind the oil filter housing. I've never taken one of these off and don't want to break...

Anyone near Shenandoah that can install a fuel pump and hotwire kit?

Jim Dunn at Buick Turbo Performance will have the car soon. Even hooked us up with DelCo Towing for transport to his shop. Jim, I'll keep you in mind for any future work on my GN!

    Rusty steering wheel

Very fine steel wool won't affect the metal spokes. Don't use it on leather though

2016 Events (aka Paging everyone who HASN'T been to a meet!)

I have not yet attended a MAGNA event. I only see the car for a few months out of storage and haven't had much interest in doing anything with it for awhile. Plus my mechanic went MIA so I haven't followed through with any of the "big plans" I had (alky, turbo, downpipe). Maybe 2016 will be...

    THANKS TB.com

Just had to post up in appreciation. I went out to eat this evening and somehow set the factory alarm before getting out (first time since I've owned it apparently). Of course after dinner the car was totally disabled and the horn started blaring. Before someone could call the police out on...

C5 Corvette brake parts - upgrade

You're probably right. The stock Corvette wheels are 17/18 staggered so 17s would be safe.

    Radiator box in kit

Thanks guys, I still have the rubber pieces (although they are in poor condition) though so I was hoping to score one of the black aluminum kits.

    Radiator box in kit

Since these appear to be out of stock everywhere for the foreseeable future, does anyone have an aluminum radiator box-in kit available for my GN? I figure maybe someone who moved to a front mount setup would have the kit lying around the garage.

    Clock always on?

Thanks guys. Need to fix it. I tried to start it this afternoon and the battery was indeed dead

    Clock always on?

I haven't driven my car for a couple weeks now and I noticed yesterday through the window that my radio clock is still on. Is this normal?

    Got 'em, thanks ;)

    bumper shims

Front bumper shims - looks like they are part #10001035 but I can't find them in the GM parts catalog anymore. If anybody has some pulled off a parts car let me know.

    tire protection

I was just thinking, he's going to blow grass all over your GN. 303 is a great product, I use it all the time in the interiors because it protects with just a minimal amount of shine to it. For the tires, I like a little more gloss and Adam's VRT is my favorite. Great for all rubber / plastic...
