I'm expecting my new one today. After removing the "tired one" it occurred to me that various pumps need to be primed, but I have found no reference to the subject on this system. Anyone know the facts on a "correct" procedure or is it unnecessary?

Ok...there's a black plastic 'housing' mounted (includes the female electrical receptacle). Took the cover plate off the firewall end. With a mirror, I see coil/contact points. I'd like to 'dress' the point surfaces. Anybody know if it's possible to remove the plastic 'housing' from the motor...
