Well it seems my MAF is on its way out. So while troubleshooting that I noticed that on my Snap on scan tool it says that it sees knock any time the engine is running. I have had detination trouble if you punch it for a while but have just kept my foot out of it as I have not had time to check...

AH!!!! That would make sense! these 3.0 rods are out of an 87 somerset T. Does anyone know what a 3.3 has? I have one of those too! But it is still in a running car so it might be harder to see them!:D

Nope, I was suprised too. I always thought the 3.0 rod would be longer as well. If you look real close you will see that the long rod is a two dot rod out of carbed 3.8:confused:

I drove mine back in the day (I was much younger) with a 45 degree elbow and some pipe that stuck out right about the center of the pass. door. Nobody ever looked twice. :)

My 83 is still sportin its original Carb setup drivers side header on the 87 stuff in the car! The only diffence I found was the 83 header had a heat sheild on it for the carb preheat.But your results may vary!:biggrin:

I think that some of the 78 could still be an odd fire engine? I don't know for sure.
