Keep increasing one/both as the power goes up and you dont pickup knock.
And understand reluctor ring variances. Meaning someones 28 degree's maybe someone elses 22 degree's. The reference is the ring on the balancer and its under the assumption eveybodys is actually 100% lined up. A few degree's is not a lot of difference when looking at less than a few thousandths of movement on it. So you can not always use what others use for timing reference.
Typically on stock longblocks you through the kitchen sink at them to get the numbers.
