Would these size tires be to narrow to mount on 15x8 rims?
Or would they look good?

Thanks

my 255s fit fine on my GNX repros, but they are also 16in wheels

i would say that with 15in wheels they'd look big. almost like a truck tire :)

I've got the 255's on the car now with stock GN rims but I have some 8 inch centerlines available and was wondering if they would look good or would the wheel stick out past the tires edge. You know, the same look that a lot of lowriders have. The skinny tire with the wide rim look!!!

That's what I want to avoid!

Thanks

Personally, I'd go with 275x60x15 w/8" rims. I've got 8" rims and have several 275x tires...even 295x60 (I've cut wheel well edges) and like the look of those, actually. The 295's look cool if you like the tall tire look.

I think 255's will look very skinny. You've got 8" rims...take advantage of them.

If you go back to the late 80's the 255/60r15 tires were the optional rubber for both the 78-82 Corvette and the 78-81 Trans Am with the WS6 package and both these cars used a 15 X 8 wheel. It should like normal IMO.

i run 255/60r15's on 80' trans am 15x8's. they look great. i run an 1/8th inch spacer and they only rub if i'm flying around a corner and hit a big bump. i think 275's look like a truck tire myself. i think 255's are perfect on my car. tread is the same width as the rim.
