Whats up guys. Well the GN is soon to be running again. A friend of mine can get me a great deal on some Budnik wheels. I was thinking of going with the Fontanas front 17x8 4" BS 245/45/17 Rears 17X9.5 285/40/17. I would like to run 315/35/17's but since the car is going to be lowered about 2 inches in the front and an inch in the back not sure if they would work. I have used the search and seen a couple of folks running this size and was wanting to know if they had to have the frame notched? Thanks in advance for any info.

hey, im one of the ones on here running 315/35 17s. I recommend only the Nitto 315s as they are very narrow for a 315 and fit nicely on a 9.5" rim. (I don't think a regular radial 315 will fit without a notched frame or at least a 11" rim) I'm using 4.75" backspacing on mine with no notched frame and and no rolled fender lips. I did get a slight rub the other day with a couple people in the car on a turn though. Overall I'm extremely happy with how it drives and looks. I can send ya pics if you hadn't seen them already on your search(car with TT2s). good luck with it

Do not remember seeing any pics with that wheel and tire combo. That would be great if you could send me some. 245/45's on the front?

Thanks

So you think maybe with a rolled lip and 4.5 BS would be ideal? They are able to make the rims with whatever BS I want.

I think 4.75 is about perfect as im pretty close to the fender lip, and i think the extra may rub it or stick out too far. My car still has stock shocks (originals....but they transfer weight;) and stock saggy springs) With a little less body roll i don't think i could make it rub at all, as like i said it was only with 3 people in the car and a taking a right hand turn at a pretty good clip :) 245/45s up front with 4" backspacing. Here are a few pics of it with this combo

Also I would definatly do some measurements on the car as every car is different. Measure from the mounting pad of the drum where the wheel mounts back to the frame (you can make a cardboard cutout because the frame is too high up to make an accurate measure meant.) But measure how much space you have on each side and then add about a quarter inch of room for tire and suspension flex.

I think those will look really good man. The dish is perfect. The Gbodies really need dish :) I think they will look good. A slight drop will really help the overall look as well.

I call it the "natural drop".....No its still stock springs that sag pretty low I presume, as well as stock shocks which will soon be replaced by a set of bilsteins. I'll probably keep the stock springs in there as i still want a good bit of weight transfer for the track.
