I was thinking about trying to modify the motor in new style firebirds. Any body have any info on these and how much boost can the handle?? How do they compare wih the 3.8's
From what I've heard the NA motor is pretty much the same as the SC motor, with the exception of compression ratio, which is higher. I think they are running quite high boost on the GTPs, now in the low 12s, and at least one running 20 psi.
I know of a GTP running 19lbs with water injection. You would have to get different pistons and a lot of other parts to run that kind of boost however. The most you could get with stock pistons is probably 6-8lbs I would imagine
