84 hot air boost question

i have an 84 t type hot air and the previous owner said the car had an aftermarket fuel pump and some kind of chip put in it and had the boost turned up to 19 psi. He says its safe and ive heard both its safe and its not safe i was wondering if it is safe or not on a stock motor stock injectors etc.

I wouldn't think that would be safe without an intercooler /methonal injection or some good octane gas.

Unless you wanna get a lesson in head gasket replacement or worse (broken rods, spun bearings or melted pistons)

Turn it down to 10 PSI & work up SLOWLY from there. Being a hot-air, I'll be amazed if you can get past 13 PSI without any knock retard.

I also hope you have a known good boost gauge to verify & a Scanmaster....

I was able to run 15psi without an intercooler but I was running a larger turbo and had t-link to monitor knock.
