Up for sale is a 1987 Buick Grand National with a McBetts Nascar Stage 2 crate motor in good condition.
First off, I want to mention all the issues that might be a deal breaker for some people. I want to get this out of the way. I just took this car in trade from a forum member in Chicago, who has been around TBs for 20+ years. Car has T-tops.....does not rattle, or leak. Even though it doesnt leak, the seals should be replaced. Defrost does not work completely. Part of the grid came off when I stripped some old tint off. Its not that hard of a fix. Paint on the original wheels has flaked off. I have 3 sets of wheels and will allow buyer to choose different wheels. Car does need to have a tune done to it. It was running on E85, but I had it tuned to run on 92 octane pump gas. Runs ok, but was not really dialed in. Car sat for a long time. Owner before me put 700 miles on it in the last 3 years. Exact mileage is unknown. Owner before me said miles shown at 60k should be correct. But according to Carfax, it had 80k miles in 94. IMO it does not have enough wear on the car to have 160k miles, but I wanted to be upfront about everything. Paint is typical 80s garbage. Looks good from 20 ft away. In one picture you can see a little bit of yellow paint on the front driver side corner bumper. That just happened today when I pulled the car out of garage. It scraped a yellow bucket and should come off no problem. Headliner is sagging a little. I cannot find the door/trunk key anywhere. Trunk is as clean as the rest of the car. If this is a deal breaker, I will get the key code and make a new key.
Now that I got that out of the way. This car was built to be a driver. Pretty much everything works. Here is all the stuff that the car has.
Precision 5 disc lockup converter
Bilstein shocks front and rear
Front and rear braces
Brand new window tint
New door seals
Interior is excellent-except for steering wheel and headliner
AC/Heat work
Stereo works
No major rust. Car was garaged
Nascar McBetts Stage 2 crate engine
JE pistons
Carillo Connecting rods
Precision Hyd Roller Cam
Champion Aluminum GN1 Heads
70MM ATR Throttle body
72lb injectors
RJC Extreme intercooler
ATR external wastegate
Wide Band sensors
FelPro Management system
1.65:1 Adjustable Roller Rockers
3" Terry Houston Down Pipe
ATR Adjustable Fuel Regulator
Level 3 200R tranny w/ 9" multi-disc vigilante 3500 stall converter
TransGo shift kit
I have a bunch of paperwork for this car. There is about $20k in the drivetrain alone. This can be a good deal for someone who can work on their own car. I wanted to get back into Turbobuicks, but I think these cars are just too old for me now. Im gonna stick with newer cars.
Im not desperate to sell, but I do want to sell it sooner or later. Bring your offers if you are a serious buyer. Overall its a pretty nice car. It was built to be streetable and drive like stock, but can be turned into a full on race car if wanted.
I will ship this car for $800 to anywhere in the US open trailer.
Any questions just ask...Ill try to answer the best I can.
