87 Shelby Charger

I love the idea. I bought an 87 brand new in 86, a black and silver one. I always wanted to pro street it with a v8. A few years ago at the big Mopar show in Belvidere Il. there was an 85 Charger there with a big block stuffed in it. It was crued looking peice but the horsepower to weight ratio is a plus. Goodluck with your project, keep us posted. Maybe someday I'll build that one I always wanted, but now I think I would put a Tubo Buick in it instead

finished up the rear suspension, took the driveshaft to get made earlier this week. I also got the parking brake setup finished, bled the brakes, and I should get the fuel cell installed tomorrow.

I have had a pile of turbo dodges, I can honestly say I have never thought of doing that to any of them.......Im interested in seeing the finished product!!

some pics.

The diff was from a Lincoln MK VIII (Thunderbird)actually. I managed to pick up a pair of CV shafts from a T-bird Supercoupe and had them machined to press in part of the shafts from the Park Ave. Ultra. I do not expect these shafts to be permanent, I'll have Moser or somebody like that make me some 1 piece shafts soon. I needed to have something just to mock up the length of the shafts anyway.

Hold the phone....

What transmission is that connected to the series2? They made a STE AWD?

Huh.. how much power would you think that could hold and what was the

gear ratio? 3:42's? The top link did not work for me btw.

The ford rear gear matches the front drive gear from GM?

More technical and year of parts details needed!!!! :)

#1-The mid 95-02 Camaro/Firebirds had the series 2 3800 so a T5 from a 97 is what I have in the car. #2- Pont. made an AWD 6000 STE from 88-90, roughly only a total of @2500 last I heard. #3- I threw away the differential that originally came in the suspension and replaced it with the unit from the Lincoln MK VIII so I had a the CV shafts made with the Ford inner joint and the GM outer joint. Yes the link isn't working right now, The minnesota Fbody sight has been down for almost 2 weeks

Here's some more pics since the link is down. I also scanned a dealer brochure of a picture of the exact car I had in high school. I always liked it, the yellow/ black. I had also blacked out the headlight recess and the slotted openings on the front bumper. Maybe somebody could photoshop that in for me.

a friend of mine worked for chrysler at the time this and the glh was new and he took the 4wd caravan and made a off road charger to compete in the baja 500. there is a better block with a marking on it (dont know what the mark is) but he made a crazy hp motor out of it using factory parts and a aftermarket turbo

Here's a couple more. I also haven't figured out what to do as far as color combo. I'd like some opinions on color choices. Do you like the yellow/black, red/black, or blue/black? I also have the hood and fender scoops that are shown on the red/black Charger 2.2. I plan on adding a big "R/T" in the blacked out area of the hood scoop.
