A friend of mine has a 98 V6 firebird that is clean but has a bad motor . I'm thinking about buying this car and putting a LC2 in it . Has anyone done this on a 4th Gen yet . Are there any post on this kind of swap . Any ideas .

I dont know whats wrong with the motor but a much simpler route would be to stick with a series 2 or 3 3800 like it has in it

many turboed s2/s3 3800 f bodys putting out well over 500 hp , Tim Kings turboed 3800 puts out 800+hp and runs 8.9's

video below

810rwhp V6 firebird runs 8.99 @ 150+mph NOT MY CAR- Video

several stock 3800 short blocks( as in factory assembly) have been 9's - they are a tough little motor and the pcm is very easily tuned for any mods you want to add

X2. More modern platform to start from, Plenty of aftermarket turbo parts, great potential and you won't have to swap out the trans. On the other hand if you have the 3400 in that car, which I think some came with, you might as well step up to the LC2. My 2cents worth, but in this economy it is worth about half of that...;)
