Since killing off the motor in the TTA I'm wanting to clean out the turbo for any possible debris. What is the best method of doing this? Anyone, Anyone............................

I would plug the hole for the return and fill it with thin weight oil. Turn it a few times , let it drain than do it again a fex times. If there is play in the shaft over and above the norm just reduild it now. Depending on the turbo , if it is a small shaft the rebuild kit for the turbo is about $75 for the parts. Good luck.

If it were my car, I would box it up and send it to John Craig at Limit Engineering so he could check it out and freshen it up if needed. That way you would know for sure.

There are places in there that metal/debris can hide and the only way to get them out is by tearing it down. Good luck!

turbo clean out

The shame of it all is that this turbo might have 5 miles on the clock, a new TA-54 from John's Performance. I beleive I will check into spliting it open myself.

Any other thoughts out there..............
