What is the difference between the bfr tanny's and the others.

I believe the valvebody and torque converter, not sure what else is different, somebody else will chime in.

so if i'm using transgo jr and hd kits, pi converter, and rebuild it's not really a big deal which trans you use? I'm trying to figure out if it would be in my best interest to try to find a brf valve body and other components to go back with when I build the trans. thank you all for your help and input.

One internal difference that I have come across in the last 21 years is that if it is pre-85 and never been opened up, it will not have a hardened sun shell. Other than that, calibration like everyone else said.
