I bought a new set of spool proof number fillers and I want to get my gn bumpers painted. What black paint code are you guys using to match (pretty close) to the factory black?

I had my front bumper powder coated black and it came out great, like glass. I recommend that for anyone who has a dent free bumper. They sandblast it to base metal before coating plus they coat it inside and out. For the fillers just ask for straight automotive black, the base color, PPG is good, DuPont also. If you try to get it mixed with the factory tints it is less likely to match. Pure untinted automotive black is going to look good.

Thankyou but my bumpers are at the body shop as we speak. I remember someone on the forum has stated a WA code for the gn

PPG Omni AU Universal Black Basecoat MBC9700 Wa8555 water born will work perfectly..

I did not paint mine. They do have a little grey in them as opposed to the stockers but it is hardly noticeable unless you are in the bright sunlight. If you want to paint them it is the base coat black. It's the blackest black they make....no mixing.

WA848 is the old single stage number. Straight black, no extras. New number is U8555 for base/clear. I just did my doors and can say the Sherwin Williams turned out a bit brown compared to the original fenders and quarters.

That is why the PPG MBC9700 Wa8555 IS the color to use.

Quit messing around.

This is what I used when I did the front header panel, and also the both bumper fillers
