Does anyone use a blow off valve on these cars? I know they're more for manual trans turbo cars (aka ricers) but it seems like they would still cut down on impeller abuse from the shuddering of letting off of full throttle. I'm not all caught up on all the technology for these cars yet. I still have a stock turbo!

It's not so much compressor/turbine wheel abuse as it is bearing load. Do a search on the topic, it's been discussed a lot.

I was beginning to wonder about this myself. I saw an episode of Gearz TV where Stacey was installing twin tail pipe turbos on a new Corvette. He explained the blow valves are essential for bleeding off unused boost when the throttle plate snaps shut, so things don't go boom.

Your stock turbo has lasted 150k miles?...and you're asking if a BOV is needed?

Even if it's beneficial, I still think you destruction of the stocker is ...umm...good reason to upgrade!
