I was contacted by the owner about driving his Buick Grand National CONVERTIBLE to GS Nationals and selling it. He lives in the Midwest and will be driving it to Bowling Green, KY for 2007 GS Nationals.

Check out the home page of GN REGISTRY :: THE OFFICIAL BUICK GRAND NATIONAL & BUICK GNX REGISTRY or the links below of photos.

The details are listed below

Hi Brett,
I enjoyed our brief conversation today. It sounds like this is the show (GS Nationals 2007) to bring the convertible. As we discussed, it is a 1982 GN frame with a 87' engine, drivetrain, interior, front clip and rear clip it looks like a 87 GN. I bought it about 8+ years ago from a guy in Texas. It's a fun car and a real "attention getter", a one of a kind. What days do you think would be the best attend to get the most exposure to possible buyers? Attached are some pictures of the car.
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards,
John

If It Is A Convertible Were Is The Top?
If It Does Not Have A Top It Is A Roadster.

Convertible duh

Since it is a convertible, the top would be under that black canvas material, shown in the photo, so it is not a roadster...

I Have Seen A Car Done Like This Before There Is No Top Under The Black Cover.
Have Them Take A Picture Of The Top Up.
Then It Would Be A Covertible.
I Still Say Its A Roadster. Prove Me Wrong And I Will Eat My Shorts!

Hope you got clean shorts with no skid marks! I've seen that car with the top up. Or at least a twin if there is one.

I have seen the car in person, he was trying to sell it last year at the Gopher State Buick show in St. Paul Minnesota.

Its alright for what it is. The seats are a little faded from the sun but everything seems to be there. I just dont like that its just flat out referred to as a Grand National which it is not since its an 82 body with a bunch of other misc GN and Regal parts on it to make it look like a GN.

Certainly a conversation piece and for the right person a fun car to cruise around in but not anything I would be interested in buying personally.

Actually I think it did have a top but when I saw it the top was down. I guess we will find out for sure when he brings it to Beech Bend.

Would not be considered a roadster cause a roadster has a top but dont have roll up windows.

bingo! jpp- Don't you remember the purists getting pissed about the new Viper because of its side windows? They were mad the Viper was no longer a true roadster and that it was just another convertible

Here's a pic i took - circa 1998 - here in St. Louis. This car is/was documented as being [i think] 1 of 3 GNs transformed by coachmasters[?] in FL to a full operating convertible. I SAW THIS CAR IN PERSON MANY TIMES and it is indeed a full OPERATING convertible. dont know if this is what you guys were referring to but thought i'd post my 2¢.

so I'm not crazy! I thought I remembered seeing one at the Easter Show when the Buick guys had a strip on the upper lot, but I wasn't exactly sure.

I saw it under the canopy at the Best Western last night and was trying to figure out what it was! We'll take some more pictures of it this week. Not for me but unique that's for sure!

I'm glad someone did this because I always wondered what it would look like even if it's not for me.
