C5 REAR BRAKE (G-body)

This sounds like it would be pretty pricey to pull off while Aerospace Components has an all aluminum, 4 piston cal, bolt on kit for us for $625.

It states for cars weighing 2,600 to 3000 lbs.

If anyone is doing this I have a set of rear c5 calipers in gray with abutments for $90 shipped.
Thanks...Shawn

Hydroboost Conversion

Cool. Don't Forget That The Floating Calipers Need A Hose From The Line To The Caliper To Allow Movement. Also, The Rotor Vanes Need To Lay Back On Forward Rotation. Rotors Scoop Air In From The Inside Of The Rotor, And Spin It Centrifugally Out. Like A Hair Dryer, Or Turbo. It Looks Like They Would Scoop From The Outside, But Not So. The Prop Valve Must Also Be Changed From A 2 Disc To A 4 Disc Style. The 2 Disc Valve Limits Rear Pressure To 600psi. So,...how About A Hydroboost To Power Up That Disc System?

Any updates??? My stock brakes just dont get the job done... Im thinking about doing the c5s in back and the s-10s up front!

Hydroboost Conversion

Did You Consider The Hydroboost Power Brake Unit? It Delivers Over 2000psi To The Calipers. Enough To Expand The Castings. It Needs No Vacuum, And No Electricity. It Bolts Right On. If You Have Bigger Brakes, Great! It Just Stops All The Better. The Hydroboost Has The Power To Stop The Car With Stock Brakes.

I have picture of the complete swap. I like the fact that the parts are sold in millions of auto parts store across the country. never know when a company will go bottoms-up.

thank you
TURBO BUICK PROJECT COMPLETE 2YRS AGO. STILL DRIVING WITH NO PROBLEM.

the rear braking system is from a 2002 WS6 trans am. i believe the camaro ss and other f-body rear brake will work. the front brake is from the 2004 chevy z06 2004 yr model.

thank you for letting me post on your forum.....please not band me. thank you

Steve,
I couldn't help noticing that the car in the pictures has a 4-bolt axle flange. Our TR's all have 3-bolt axle flanges. I contemplated installing rear disk from 81 TA but was stopped by the TR's axle flange. Ended up with Baer's rear disk brake from Cottons. It went on easy.

most of you would`nt understand, plus its only a job for the skillfull and budget hot rodder. bear is the BEST, and i will recommend it to any one who is looking for a plug-n-play set-up. I could not use the bear brake because the rims have no clearance for them. the corvette set-up did good by me. I had to modified the tr axle flange by drilling (4)four hole in it so the ws6 brake will bolt to the tr rearend.

Steve,
I didn't realize that the axle flange extended upward enough to drill the two top holes. That is GREAT! Most folks could drill the 2 holes. That makes it very doable.
