check valve ? (which way)

Like the title says,can anyone tell me which way the check valves are supposed to face? the one under the fpr should the black side face the firewall or the other way around? and the one between the fuel vapor canister should the black part of check valve toward cannister or away? T I A

Well lets see, how do I explain this. Check valves go in the direction that the vacuum pulls. So they flow when when you are pulling vacuum and seal when you come under boost.Pull them off and blow through them to figure out which way they flow and if they are sealing. They should only flow one direction. Re-Install them so that vacuum flows through. If you dont know which way vac flows.The lines coming off the motor are are pulling vac. Vacuum comes from the motor.
