Okay, so the TTA has been borderline unbearable here without working AC. I am asking all of you here in TTALand whether you would convert an all original TTA to R134a instead of trying to track down someone with R12 and getting the AC system charged up. Thoughts?

I've seen R12 for sale pretty often on Craigslist...

I am going to give R152A a try. It is supposed to have similar properties as R12. But R134A is marginal at best and you will not be happy with it. Check Ebay for R12. Also do a search for R152A. It seems like a viable alternative.

I was lucky and found a local shop that still had R-12.... they did a full recharge and it has been holding great! problem is it was like $80 a pound :( .... nothing like r-12 it freezes you out.
