I just went to my local speed shop to get a scanmaster and they tried selling me a MAF Translator too. Do I need this to tune my car. Or can I tune manually. I do have Max Efforts 16 position thumbwheel, so can I tune with this?

I bought translator when my MAF died and i could not find a good replacement. If you get good numbers on your existing sensor now i would save my money.

If you have the Maxeffort you can fine tune the fuel very well.

What timing is in your chip positions?

If you have a good stock MAF you shouldn't need the translator at all.

New timing control module would give you more timing flexibility if you need to play with timing more than what is built into the Maxeffort chip.

Just my .02.
