Door chime/buzzer info

Hope this answers your question:

1) Standard equipment was a buzzer for key-in-ignition while driver's door open.

2) Optional equipment was a chime for key-in-ignition while driver's door open, seat belt not fastened, and headlamps on reminder. The chime count is different depending on which of these factors are met.

1)The buzzer alarm has six terminals
2)The chime alarm has seven terminals.

These parts are interchangable without any modification.

for us challenged folks......

how did you disconnect the seat belt chime? I find it annoying!
thanks

mine does that when the battery get low.

like not driven in while, , funny thing, all three of them do it,

It is pretty common for the chime module to go bad on these cars. I think they are still available from GM.

Anyone know the part number for the chime module? Where is it located?

GM p/n 25524794, should be around $45 or so. I think it's just to the right of the steering column. Looks like the attached pic.
