ECM yes, with some differences though (calpack). Check out this site and look under "C3 ECM cross reference". I think GNX is a 1227148... and 1227153 have same program ID $31 but 153 is used on a 3.0L

Besides the TR's, the 7148 ecm was used in 86 3.8L n/a cars and not much else. They are out there but not that easy to find.

so maybe an 86 riviera would have the ecm I need? I know where one of those is at.

the 86 riviera didn't have a 148 ecm in it. It was a B code engine, had the 3.8 in it????

Here is a link I posted on TB's about converting to an 86/87 ecm. In it there is another link that lists all the other cars that use the 1227148 ecm. I also tell you how to read the vin to see if it has the that ecm in it so you don't have to keep pulling them out just to find it's the wrong one. They are out there you just have to keep looking. I got mine for 15 bucks.
