I was going through my Limited.Ipushed for Malfuctions.

Got code 32 which it said was 02 sensor. No problem

Then I was told my ERG or EGR was off.
Hate ask but what is this. And how do I fixit.

Really,embarrsed.............TIA.......Rob:confused:

Code 32 is related to the EGR system. Could be vacuum signal related. Is there a vacuum signal at one line of the solenoid? Is the EGR filter plugged, causing an EGR signal at idle? We'll start there and look at wiring issues tomorrow. But first off , clear the code and see if it returns.

Thank You

First off want to thank you for helping..a person out.

Second off I'llwill try and clear the code.

Failed to mention it was on my Turbo Link along with
a dead 02 sensor.IN process of changing,02 sensor.
Real bear.Bought new one.

You might be very right. As the car sat in the body shop.
For 6 months.3 outside unstarted.Enginebay looks awfull.
White paint.Car had the full works done.Glass out.
Usually more knowledgable. But not with these cars.

But I'll do as you said.Is ther a sensor connected to this?
Trying to find my diagram for it.

Again. Many thanks.
Hope I can help or pay you in some way....
Rob

Sensor connections that control EGR are coolant temp sensor, speed sensor and throttle position sensor. There is also a connector for the EGR solenoid

You are right.

My TPS was Way off.Got that back set.

I am having problems with cooling.Car is running hot.

I have a 160 degree,new Thermostat.And a stock injector,
Thrasher chip.K&N filter.Rest stock.Just to give you a picture of what it is.

Raining like crazy to day.Going to try your sugestions.

When you said to clear the EGR> How do I do this.

Again I appreciate your help.I'm off work Sundays and Mondays.
So if I seem slow. It's the hours I put in my new business.

Really need this help.................Rob

It's the EGR filter, not the actual EGR valve. The filter is under a round cover on the back of the EGR solenoid. Remove the cover and replace the EGR filter.

Thak You Again

I didn't realize that under this piece was the unit you sugestted.
Finish work Saturday. Will get back to you.

Really appreciate your help.
Know you are busy.So means more to me.

Thanks.....Rob

Your kind words are appreciation enough. Really, I'm not that busy, since my engine parts have been slow in coming. I hope to finally drive my GN again (after 2 months).

Me again

I cleared the codes.No luck.Am buying a new sensor.Set the TPS.

And almost have the new 02 in.Busted knucles.

Srayed the TPS to clean it.Won't start???? Have to check fuel pressure and plugs.

Any ideas???TIA........Rob

What did you spray the TPS with? It may be possible that you shorted the TPS sensor. I usually just wipe the sensor down, and never spray anything directly at the TPS. Key on engine off, hook your scan tool up and see if any of the sensors look out of range. Also verify fuel and spark.

GOFSTBUICK Thank you

I srayed the out side of the throllte body and most likely the TPS

With card and injector cleaner. To get some of the body shop dirt off.

Found the EGR valve. Will wipe TPS unit down.

Also ordered new egr fom Brian.Putting new 02 sensor in.

Have new plugs for it.Have check static fuel pressure.

Car turns over, almost starts. Then quits.A first for me.

Hate admitting my failures........Thanks again Rob........

How is the oil pressure switch? If the oil pressure switch is bad, it may only prime the fuel system and will not let the engine start if it doesn't see oil pressure. If you have a scan tool, you can check to see that the TPS ranges properly. Key on engine off, push the accelerator to the floor and watch the TPS voltage. It should rise smoothly from around 0.42v to 4.50 volts or higher. What kind of paint, it may be possible that the paint dust may have clogged the vent of the O2 sensor and will drive the fuel system richer or flood out your engine.

Jeez, you ask the right questions.First I will do as you say with my T'Link. To get the TPS readings.

Second the car was sanded to bare metal.which was a re-paint.
The srayed with color and clear coat.Engine conpartment.
Really was awful. But it ran.Until I started to make it better.

Joke is on me.
Thanks so much for your help.Get off work Saturday.

Will try for Sunday or monday. Will give you a report if you don't mind. Many Thenks,gofstbuick.............Rob

One last question before I go and try everytung you suggested.

You mentioned a 02 sensor vent? Will it show up on the TurboLink.Sorry to ask so many questions.Got the 02 sensor almost out.Putting new one in.

Then I'm going to read this to you........TIA........Rob

The vent is under the steel sheild surrounding the top of the O2 sensor. You won't be able to see it, even if the shield were removed. This vent allows ambient air to pass into the sensor and is used to compare outside O2 content (a constant 20.8%) to the O2 in the exhaust. The O2 sensor then generates a signal to send to the ECM. The things that will pollute or clog the sensor are coolant, volitile sealants or silicone products (must always use O2 sensor safe sealants) and burning oil. Usually when the sensor fails, it will produce an extremly low voltage signal. The ECM interprets this as lean and drives the mixture really rich.
