I have been out of the turbo buick scene for a few years. So at the risk of being flogged, what type of fluid is everybody running in their 200's? I looked through all the post in the transmission section and can not seem to find my answer. Dont be too hard on me.....:D:D

So what are the benefits of 6 over what we were supposed to put in originally? I think my dip stick says 2, but I can't remember off hand.

6 Holds up the heat better and last longer. Put DEX VI and your good to go.

Dexron VI vs Dexron III

The following chart represents the improvements of Dexron VI vs Dexron III.

Extended Fill Range = 100,000 miles Normal Use.
Change Interval = 50,000 miles Severe Use.
Clutch Friction Stability = Improved 100%
Clutch Durability = Improved 120%
Oil Film = Increased 20%
Fluid Oxidation = Improved 100%
Shear Stability = Improved 200%
Foam / Aeration= Improved 150%

How often are you guys replacing the transmission fluid? Thanks

The conditions for changing fluid are dependant on how hard you run, how hot the fluid gets and weather or not you think you need to drop the pan and replace the filter.

I am not sure if Dex 6 is under the same category for other fluids. I remember hearing the rule of thumb on trans fluid is every 10 degrees over 200 degrees you decrease the life of the fluid in half. I am sure someone will correct me but I remember hearing and seeing that somewhere.
