found a 82 buick turbo sport coupe and have question

does anyone know if it has a 8.5 rear in those???? or alum brake drums or???

No 8.5" rear axle. It has the 7.5" and most likely 2.73 gears. 3.23 was the optional gear ratio. 1984 was the first year for the 8.5 in the G-Body. It might have aluminum drums. The general rule of thumb is that aluminum drums were standard on cars with alloy wheels and NO posi. Posi cars all got steel drums reguardless of wheel type.

this car is a one owner garage kept car, silver with blue half vinyl top with blue bucket seat interior, sport coupe turbo. motor is out of it but rebuilt and ready to go back in, i was just seeing if it was worth messing with or not, i can get it for around 2k or maybe a little less, its in his way and ready to sell. then i thought about parting it out but if 7.5 rear, etc...may not be worth the troubles. it was bought new here in my hometown and woman drove it for years...and set in a garage, so most everything is in good condition.
