HARD shifts

87 GN virgin. Looks like nothing was ever touched on this car. 45,035 miles. Engine runs great but trans shifts hard. Break parts HARD on all upshifs. Will not shift into OD unless you let off the throttle The converter never locks. Bought it, drove it home and have not touched it since. Any ideas. thanks in advance.

adjust tv cable, go to gnttype.org to learn how, maybe also the chip in the computer. Mine had a thrasher chip, shifted hard but ran like crap cold. Put stock chip in and shifts were firm but not hard.
