head gasket/water jacket Q

ive already torqued my heads down im using the fp 1000 head gaskets... but anyways i was reading up about somthing else and noticed a bunch of post about using silicone around the water ports... but mostly with the steel shim gaskets didnt find anything really about with the fp 1000s... so my q is can i pull the heads off w/o screwin up the gaskets... and should i put silicone around the water ports and on the bolts? which silicone blue or copper(not sure how hot it gets in that area... ) thats all

Hi!
It is always said that dry is best, and I will have to defer to the gasket maker on that. Any other ideas?
