header wrap

I have just got my exshaust coated with the black ceramic coating. I also wanted to wrap the headers and cross over. Is this a good idea? Or would it heat the headers too much and cause them to crack?

The added heat may speed up cracking, maybe no difference. The wrap looks good initially but will hold moisture.Powder coating is the way to go.

If you got the headers ceramic coated, why would you heat wrap them? Ceramic is the way to go. The wrap picks up dust, oil, and holds in moisture. Have any pics of the coated parts?

Thanks Jason

As the last 2 people mentioned if they're already coated you definatly don't need to wrap them. I wouldn't suggest wrapping them anyways because it'll hold too much heat in and make them more prone to cracking.

Not to mention the fire hazard when oil drips on to the header. I would only consider wrapping part of the downpipe on these cars.
