what is the easiest way to remove that metal cover on the bottom of the heater box?, it seems to be loose but i cant find exactly where it comes off.

There is 1 bolt on the bottom, right behind the valve cover. It is a PITA to get off, had to break it to get it out. I tried to get mine off for about 1/2 an hour and finally gave up. I think it might come out if the valve cover is removed. Seems like the motor is in the way. :( Good luck. BTW, why are you taking it off?

two bolts on top, one on the bottom and yes, that one is a major PITA.
Seems like it'll be hard to get that bottom screw back in to when replacing the shield.

I tried to remove mine before I realized that I could replace my valve cover fine without removing it.

I ended up giving up as well, but wasn't necessary anyway......

my DP is hitting it, but what im thinging of doing first is replacing my DS motor mount, seems like ppl have luck doing it this way.

my MM are original with 180k on them, so its time to do them anyways :)

I had to break that last bottom bolt off as well. I got all of the other ones out and then used a hammer and a long screw driver to punch it out.
