Update. Headed out to Wicked Garage to run a test on the MAF. The objective was to monitor the MAF graph while tapping the MAF with the head of a screwdriver. Each tap resulted in a spike in the MAF and IPW. Spikes ranged from 13-24. There are 5 files attached. 014 is the MAFtap. 015-018 are driving tests with throttle. 017 is where it gets interesting.
014: MAF Tap with handle from screwdriver. Each tap created a spike ranging from 13-24. IPW occurs as well and they seem to spike in unison. One would assume the MAF creates the spike since I am trigger the spike in the MAF. I inspected the MAF as best I could in terms of the wires and connections. In my limited experience I couldn't arrive at any conclusions around the health of the connectivity or lack thereof. I'll have to leave that assessment for later with some help.
017: frame 961, MAF goes "bananas" under throttle and at low (11 MPH), TPS above 1, IPW follows MAF graph. This happened about 15-20 minutes after starting the car and taking it for a spin to the gas station (91 octaine) and back (5 kms) and then doing a few PowerLogger runs (014-016) soon afterwards. I didn't notice any issues when driving to the gas station but then again I was very cautious and didn't push Throttle/RPM much. When the spikes occurred (again frame 961) i'm rolling at low speed and then I hit the throttle, you can hear the boost spooling and the car's torque feels good for a bit, then you hear an almost "light compressed air" sound, power drops, car sputters in sequence with MAF/IPW readings and black smoke comes out the back. Its not a full loss of power but its a significant reduction. I'm not sure how to interpret the BLMs, but they increase every MAF tap. So does INT. LV8 increase, RPM increases. Side Note: I've noticed that there are two trouble codes, 45 and 41. The first PL files from 08.10.2016 (001-003) only had 45. But then the rest of the files since have had a 41 as well. Not sure if this is the result of our cam sensor test where we removed the cam sensor. I'll have to ask Nick if its been installed properly.
Known good parts on the way soon thanks to DankGN and Turbokeith. I'll have tow Known Good MAFs and a Known good ECM. I've also been connected with motorhead mike who is in my area. Hoping to meet him soon.
